NARVAEZ 817 Chronomètre — black sector dial, titanium case, suede strap

The 817

In 2021, I became obsessed with a concept: to make a watch that could do it all. Ergonomic for daily use, durable for challenging conditions, and elegant for formal dinners.

Not knowing how long it would take, or how many sleepless nights it would require, the 817 Series 1 is finally—after five long years—reaching the finish line.

The 817 is a 37.8mm "dress-field" watch with 100 metres of water resistance. The case, the dial, and the movement are composed almost entirely of Grade 5 titanium.

While I designed its proportions specifically to suit my own 16cm wrist, I suspect it will appeal to anyone who prefers their objects to be quietly competent and entirely unpretentious.

Series 1 is limited to twenty pieces—a somewhat complicated logistical feat involving world-class partners across Switzerland and Japan, including Chronode and Voutilainen & Cattin. The final four pieces are currently being finalized (the mirror-polished titanium dials have been particularly agonizing), and are scheduled for sale and delivery this autumn.
